Day 9 – Fairy house complete

9/100 After three days of work, it’s finished! I usually don’t take this long to finish a piece. But I took my time with a little more detail than usual, and I added a background which is definitely a new thing for me. It was a bit scary!!

When I used graphite paper to transfer my original sketch from my sketchbook to this Canson “The Wall” paper (that holds up to all my layering) it left some accidental marks I couldn’t remove… so either I had to redraw or just be brave and go with a background!

I’m pretty happy with it. I loved the Copic fluorescents! The Faber Castell pencils worked so nicely with them.

Day 4 – Stars in a jar

4/100 I’m sticking with my theme of markers and things in jars! I may do another version of this on an ATC later… This was my first time using colored pencils along with Copics. I’m not sure it was quite the look I was going for, but I’m going to try again. I’m really liking the Chameleon colored pencils.

Day 123 – A soft portrait

Here’s some more work with Sennelier pastels and Polychromos colored pencil. There was a lot of dust after this one! I kind of went crazy trying to be loose and I was all over the place. I was just being very intuitive.

Day 93 – Alita: Battle Angel

If you haven’t seen the movie yet, I’d recommend Alita: Battle Angel. I haven’t read the manga, but my husband has and says that the movie is pretty good.

I don’t normally do fan art of any kind, but I’ve been thinking about the movie since watching it last night. So, this wasn’t my best effort – colored pencil is not my forte. But I tried anyway!

Day 74 – Fungi

I wanted something soft and whimsical, so I thought straight colored pencil would lend itself well to these cute mushrooms. I used Prismacolor pencil and a Gelly Roll pen.
