Finger Painted Landscape

I haven’t painted in a long time, but I did an encaustics class this weekend and got motivated! This is my first oil – an 8×10 finger painting on canvas board. I like painting small, but it’s hard with fingers! I may have to expand my canvas!

Day 72 – Mountains

This was made with the supplies I got from my SketchBox this month- a limited palette of 8 colors. Oil pastel on an itty bitty 4×6 inch Strathmore oil painting paper. It was nice to work on such a small size, since oil pastels in the past have taken me a significant amount of time to complete due to all the layers. I haven’t played with the medium much, but after experiencing the artist grade Sennelier pastels, it’s changed the game for me and I want to learn more.
