14/100 I just did some doodling last night. I’ve been working through the exercises in the book “Keys to Drawing with Imagination”. I highly recommend it so far!
10/100 Yesterday was a sad day for me and my family. I didn’t feel much like creating. I chose primary colors, something basic. So I just did a quick blind contour of a lamp, which seemed appropriate because a lovely light left our lives. My mom’s dog also ended up breaking a lamp yesterday. I hope you’re all safe and well.
8/100 It took me so long to transfer and ink this! Time for color! It’s looking like it will probably be a springtime color theme… I just have to decide how much detail I want to add with ink pen for shadows, and if I want to replicate all the textural lines from the original sketch or just let the color speak!
5/100 I know I said I was doing a jar/bottle theme, but I have some more fairy houses I wanted to draw! I almost didn’t get this one in last night, so I chose a very small canvas to work with! It’s ATC (Artist Trading Card) size, so about the size of a business card or credit card.Continue reading
4/100 I’m sticking with my theme of markers and things in jars! I may do another version of this on an ATC later… This was my first time using colored pencils along with Copics. I’m not sure it was quite the look I was going for, but I’m going to try again. I’m really liking the Chameleon colored pencils.
I really loved the Artsnacks box for April! All the supplies were fantastic. I had no idea what to make with the colors, then it came to me! Also, I was super impressed that with all my layering with the markers, it didn’t bleed in my Illo sketchbook.
This one is dedicated to my mom. I’ve been missing her lots, especially during this pandemic. We are 1400 miles apart. So, I made a mommy and daughter goldfish! 👉 Swipe to see detail and the preliminary sketches I did to create these characters (the celestial eye goldfish cracks me up!!)
Fude fountain pen with Diamine ink, which is water soluble, so I blurred the lines with a bit of water.
I was playing with my Fude fountain pen with some water soluble Diamine ink. I love the illustrative quality the Fude nib gives with the varied line widths, combined with a little water from a brush pen. A fantastic pen for $10!
I was trying for something in this one that didn’t really work with the low quality watercolor I was using and the water brush.
